Hey guys my name is Shawn and I'm from Southeastern Virginia and currently I go to Radford University in the mountains of VA. I'm currently a sophomore and next year I am transferring to Belmont University in Nashville. I've visted the school and city of Nashville a couple times and I honestly couldn't picture myself living anywhere else. It feels like home to me. This blog is mainly about country music and things that inspire me. I love God, concerts, fishin, pretty much anything dealing with the outdoors, my friends, my family, and I am blessed to live in the U.S.A. I have been a country music fan ever since I can remember. I remember being 4 or 5 years old and my grandma playing Elvis Presley and all kinds of country artists all the time. Ever since then I've been hooked. I started playing guitar in my early to mid teens and I'm in love with it. I've been writing songs and lyrics since I was about 14. It's how I cope with almost anything in my life and it's probably my favorite thing to do. I can't wait to call Nashville home . I want to start new and have a new beginning where people don't know my name. Hopefully y'all enjoy my blog and if y'all have any questions just ask. I'll always answer.

Thursday May 31st

Well I woke up around 9:30 and ate breakfast and stuff then I went to the YMCA for a really good work out that was much needed haha

After that I came home and showered, did some pickin’ on the guitar and Billy showed up for our bro day. We got his truck all packed up and we headed out to Bennetts Creek for some fishin’. But first we had to go to Wal-Mart so Billy could get his new fishing license since his mom washed his last one in his pocket haha. I swear the woman doing it was never going to finish! She was a talker I must say. And then we finally got out there and as soon as I got my bait in the water I caught a croaker but it was literally the size of my index finger haha. We stayed out there for a few hours and caught several fish but not much. I call it a successful fishing trip though since we caught some. Then we headed to my house and had dinner. My dad cooked on the grill which means food was extra amazing. After dinner Billy decided we should just drive around so we drove out to Suffolk and road around out in the country listening and singing along to Jason Aldean, Eric Church, some Chris Cagle and some classics. We stopped by a horse farm where one of his friends keeps their horse and we just stalked out some potential fishin’ holes. After a little longer of that we went to Dairy Queen and then just hung out for a little while longer before he had to be home. I call it a successful bro night though!

Wednesday May 30th

So yesterday marked one week until my Belmont Orientation and the CMT Music Awards!! I couldn’t be more excited about that.

Yesterday I worked from 10:30 till 5 and it was the slowest day it could have been but it all got interesting at the very end when my and my manager saw a huge mouse run by us haha. I’ve never heard a scream so loud in my life haha My manager was sooo freaked out.

After work I went out to East Side Pizza with my family then I headed over to Alex’s house for the night and we finished her calculus project, which turned out really nice. We also had lots of tickle fights and a glue stick fight which resulted in glue in my mouth and on my face and also glue in Alex’s eyebrows which caused them to look pretty funny haha She also tried teaching me how to play “Even If It Break Your Heart” by the Eli Young Band and I think I get the concept but I’m going to try and learn the whole thing down today.
